Ever since we made this tribute CD back in 2011, there have been loads of requests from fans wanting to buy it. So now, we have made a crowdfunding project over at Indiegogo. If enough people want us to, we will release a proper version of this album in November this year, through Gymnocal Industries.

Check out the crowdfunding page here!

The full story behind this CD:

Back in 2011, Kim Ljung had to cancel concerts and recordings for several month, due to severe migraines. His first ever cancellations, in fact. I (ottoegil) talked with a lot of fans who wanted to do something for him, and Eyvor from Vandring half jokingly suggested recording a song. After a couple of days, it struck me that it was actually a great idea – but not one song: I wanted to make a tribute album.

I first asked my friend and fellow IP-er Nicolas, what he thought about it. Was it a crazy plan, or something we could actually do? Well, he joined immediately, and we started contacting other fans that we know also were musicians themselves. Pretty much everyone joined up pretty fast, and chose which songs they wanted to cover.

We had about 20 bands who wanted to participate, but there was one problem: The deadline had to be sometime in November, and we were already in late August. Luckily, 15 bands/artists delivered on time, and we were able to make the album just in time for the very first Ljungblut concert on December 16 2011. In full secrecy. 15 bands from 9 countries, over 74 minutes. We also made a book to go with it, with pictures, credits and greetings to Kim from everyone who was involved.

The CD itself was printed in only 100 copies. 5 for each band, and 25 for Kim. A bunch of Kim’s copies were given away in an Industrypeople contest earlier this year – but besides that, this CD has been impossible to get hold of.

So if you want a copy, now is your chance.

Here’s our pitch video for the project:

A short video from when Kim was given the CD:

Kim was interviewed on NRK Vestfold about the album:

Also: An article in Tønsberg Blad, coverage from Side-Line, and Kim’s tumblr comments.
